Welcome to
the Sixth Grade! Even though I have been teaching sixth grade for
many years, I am always excited to my new class of students.
Throughout the school year, the students as well as myself will be
learning many new and challenging things! In addition to teaching
the curriculum, I focus on developing the student's study skills
(completing assignments on time, checking assignments for errors
before turning it in, organizing his/her paperwork and assignments,
deciding what assignments that need to be completed, etc.)
The students will soon learn that Reading is my passion. I have a
class library available to my students of over 1600 books to read.
Oftentimes, I have to wait my turn to read one of my books because
many of my students are reading the books!
As sixth graders, the students are look upon as student leaders in
the school and they are often asked to serve as helpers/leaders in
many activities in the school (station helpers for the primary
classes, techology assistance, and helping staff members in their
office or classroom).
I am looking forward to working with my students as we face many
challenges this school year!
