I grew up in Shoreline
and now I live in Edmonds. I earned my bachelor's degree from
Pacific Lutheran University in ‘84 and my master's degree
from Seattle Pacific University in ‘93. The 2009-2010 school
year is my 25th year in Shoreline!
I love music – I often go to the
symphony and to chamber music concerts. I enjoy singing, dancing,
playing the piano and playing the flute. I play in a flute trio and
we do a recital each year at Third Place Books. I also enjoy going
to the movies. My favorite movies include Pride & Prejudice,
The Shawshank Redemption, West Side Story, Raiders of the Lost Ark,
The English Patient and any of the Harry Potter films. I also like
to laugh a lot, walk fast, take photos, create scrapbooks and read.
A few of my favorite authors are Maeve Binchy, Anne Rivers
Siddons,
J. K. Rowling, Louis Sachar and Farley Mowat.
My family includes my mom, my sweetheart Darryl, three sisters, two
brothers-in-law, one niece, three nephews, one nephew-in-law, three
nieces-in-law, one grandnephew and three grandnieces. Whew!
That’s a lot of family!
Each year I have a room
full of wonderful third graders. They constantly inspire me with
their intelligence, their curiosity and their good humor. I love
kids, and I love to teach!
