About Mrs. Bell......

I grew up in the land of extremes--Montana.  One day it could be 90 degrees and the next day it might be snowing ... all in July!  I was born in Havre, finished high school in Billings, student-taught in Kalispell, graduated from the University of Montana, and taught in Superior all before moving to Seattle.

I taught Elementary Music (K-6) in the Central Kitsap School District for five years while living in West Seattle and commuting on the Seattle-Bremerton Ferry.  After having our first child I taught for the next 10 years at The Evergreen School for Gifted Children in Shoreline.  Brookside invited me to join their faculty in the fall of 1994 and I have loved being here ever since.

I have many interests … there is NEVER enough time for all the things that I love to explore and do.  Lady Belle Creations is my business where I create mosaics of all kinds.  I have shown at many art and craft fair.  I love to walk/hike in nature.  The ocean is the best!  I do energy work with Healing Touch, Sound Healing, and am a Reiki Master.

My philosophy of teaching is that students come to understand there is a joy in participating, creating and listening to music.  Through their music class my hope for your children is to come to understand the connections and the integration of music as it applies to our culture and the world around us.  As a facilitator who guides students I believe they will discover within themselves, or working within a group, or in front of an audience their unique artistic abilities.  Through these social/musical experiences I know students will contribute and find that they are a part of a greater community, a greater world.  In short, my hope is students discover to be more sensitive to beauty and thus become more human.
