Summer is almost here and that means more play time
for Mr. Alford!
Mr. Alford on the A-2 crux of the West Face of Gunsight
Peak
Welcome to
Mr. Alford's PE webpage & thanks for dropping in! I was born
and raised in Snohomish, WA. and graduated from Snohomish High
School in 1995. I attended Washington State University from
1995-2000 and during that time lived, worked, and studied in both
New Zealand and Okinawa.
I received my Masters
Degree and teaching certification from the University of Idaho in
2002 and completed my teaching internship in Bellingham, WA.
Before coming to Brookside, I worked as a LAP/Title I math and
reading instructor at Cascade View Elementary in Snohomish,
WA.
As you might guess from
some of my photos, I am an avid climber and outdoors person.
I also really enjoy many forms or recreation/exercise including
biking, running, yoga, hiking, lifting weights, and boxing.
While I am a pretty healthy guy, I do have a weakness for home
baked goods (with peanut butter and chocolate) and ice cream (same
ingredients!)
I really enjoy teaching
PE and sharing my passion for movement with children. My
philosophy of Elementary PE is that it should be enjoyable for kids
and framed around cooperation and personal challenge rather than
competition.
