Welcome to Room 8! We will be working on decoding and understanding
written language. Our program is funded by Title I/LAP.
We supplement the reading instruction students get in the
classroom. We work primarily on sounding out, fluency,
vocabulary, and summarizing. We promote love of reading
throughout the school through celebrations of Dr. Seuss's birthday,
National Poetry Month, and Poem in Your Pocket Day. We also
throw grade level celebrations of individual authors or genres.

I have been teaching for over 16 years in resource rooms, Title
I/LAP, and general education classrooms. I was honored to be
named an Outstanding Educator in 2007. I love reading and I
love it when people read to me.
