About the Echo
Lake Library
The Echo Lake library serves 470 students, staff and parents with approximately 10,000 circulating items. We house 10 iMacs. All computers are networked for Internet use, and to a laser printer or inkjet color printer. I The library has twelve digital cameras, six digital video cameras, and 25 iPod shuffles for student and staff checkout. Adjacent to the main library space is a well-stocked reference room, filled with reference tools for research. The Echo Lake computer lab, with 30 iMacs and projector, are just a few steps away from the main library area. Meet the Echo Lake Staff Librarian: My name is Dennis Day and I became the Library Media Specialist at Echo Lake in January 2003. Prior to Echo Lake, I had a similar position in the Northshore School District at Westhill Elementary for seven years. I also taught third grade at Westhill before moving to the library. I graduated from the UW with a B.A. in history, and earned a Master’s degree from Lesley College. I’m married, with two children, one girl in fthird grade and one boy in sixth grade. I enjoy playing, watching, and coaching soccer, SCUBA diving, traveling and reading. My passion is photograghy, I love my role at Echo Lake and feel lucky to be working at such a wonderful school. |
