Mrs. Burrows
&
Mrs. Gillingham Room
22
Our classroom is built on RESPECT,
RESPONSIBILITY,
COMPASSION, HONESTY, and
EFFORT so that
everyone who enters feels safe and appreciated.
This year we will explore the world as
authors, scientists, mathematicians, historians, and researchers.
As we continue to strengthen our reading, writing, and math skills,
we will also investigate scientific variables, landforms, and the
environment. Our look at U.S. government and how it was born will
immerse us fully as role-players in history. Room 22 will be
bustling with student learning. We hope you have the opportunity to
visit us!
Mrs. Burrows Mondays, Tuesdays, & alternating
Wednesdays
I am thrilled to be job
sharing in our fourth year with Mrs. Gillingham. I am a proud
native to Washington State, growing up in the city of
Woodinville. As I am very family-oriented, I stayed in state
earning my undergraduate degree at Seattle Pacific University and
Masters degree at City University. This year will mark my eleventh
year of teaching, with four years of teaching high school special
education, five years of fifth grade, and one year of sixth
grade. When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my
husband of 12 years, Ryan and my two adorable daughters, Camden (5
years old) and Rylie (2 years old). We love to be outdoors,
spend time with family and friends, and fix up our
“old” house. My hobbies consist of making handmade
cards, scrapbooking, reading, keeping a quotes journal, and playing
tennis. I look forward to our year ahead and getting to know
each other better.
Mrs. Gillingham Thursdays,
Fridays & alternating Wednesdays
I’m so happy to be at Echo Lake
job sharing with Mrs. Burrows. I too am a native Washingtonian,
growing up in Port Angeles on the Olympic Peninsula. I earned my
undergraduate degree at the University of Washington and my Masters
in Teaching degree at City University. Echo Lake Elementary is
where I started teaching in 2000. Here I’ve taught three
years of fourth grade and six years of fifth grade. I love
adventure and challenges both inside and outside the classroom.
Hiking, camping, waterskiing, snowshoeing, snow skiing, biking, and
running are some of my favorite outdoor activities. My family
shares my love of the outdoors too. My husband, Matt and my two
exuberant little boys, Luke (3 years old) and Cole (1 year old)
plus our Cairn Terrier, Duncan are very important to me. Bringing
new experiences to my boys and sharing in their learning are my
most prized moments. I hope I can bring out your child’s
enthusiasm for learning this year too.
