Welcome to Integrated
Arts!
In this class, students learn core concepts in the arts (visual
art, music, drama, and dance). These concepts are integrated with
other classroom subjects such as reading, writing,
math, science, and social studies.
Students learn about the arts as well as through the arts. |

The curriculum facilitates the students' achievement of
standards listed in The Washington State Essentail Academic
Learning Requirements For Arts Education. Creative movement,
singing, instrument playing, dramatic performances, and experience
with different visual arts media are components of this class.
Many of the skills required for meeting the state standards in
other academic areas are facilitated and applied in Integrated Arts
as well. Some of these skills are: problem solving, thinking
skills, listening skills, creativity, observation, comparing,
contrasting, explaining thoughts and processes, working
independently and collaborating with others.
