Mrs. Peterson and Mrs.
Wennik
Welcome to Room
23...
...where 5th and 6th
graders put their creativity and problem solving skills to work
through hands-on activities in all subject areas. Our class enjoys
simulations in social studies, discussions in Literature Circles,
real life problems in math, exploration in science, and technology
integrated throughout. We invite you to come visit our
classroom to see the work in action. Here's to a wonderful
year ahead!
Please let us know
if you have any questions or concerns.
Unless you have a specific question for one
of us, we would appreciate it
if you could email us both so that we can stay informed about your
child.
Mrs. Peterson
(Afternoons - Teaching
reading, science, and
writing)
I am
excited to be joining the Echo Lake staff this year.
Last year I taught 4th grade in
the highly capable program at Meridian Park. Prior to teaching at
Meridian Park, I completed my Master of Arts in Education through
the University of Phoenix. I also have a Bachelor's Degree in
Communications through Washington State University. Outside of the
classroom my husband, Ken, and I are kept on our toes by our two
children Leah, 7, and Levi, 5, who attend Shoreline Schools. I'm
looking forward to wonderful learning adventures this
year!
Mrs. Wennik
(Mornings - Teaching
math, social studies, spelling, and
writing)
I grew up in Edmonds, WA and then attended the
University of Washington, where I received my bachelor’s
degree in Communications. I worked at
an advertising agency for two years before going back to school to
get my Masters in Teaching from Seattle University. When I’m not at school, I love spending time
outdoors with my husband, Adam; 18 month-old daughter, Elana; and
our ever-energetic dog, a Vizsla named Lexi. I took last year off to spend some precious time
raising my daughter, which was an absolutely fabulous
experience. This will be my tenth year
at Echo Lake Elementary and I am so happy to be back!
