Homework Policy
Daily homework assignments will be given and will be due the next
day at the beginning of the period. Homework will be graded
based upon effort and completion of the assignment. Students
who have fully completed the assignment will receive a stamp
symbolizing full credit.
In order to receive a stamp, students must
1) Write name/date/period in
corner
2) Write the assignment on top line
3) Write down each problem (unless it is a word
problem)
4) Finish the assignment COMPLETELY
5) Show their work for each problem - Evidence of
good thinking is just as important as the
right answer. I want to see what
was thought about to get to the answer.
Late
homework: It is crucial for students to stay up to
date in this class. If students do not have an assignment on
the day it is due, they may turn it in late for partial
credit. Late work will only be accepted if the paper is
labeled as follows

What do I do when I'm absent?
Check the website for assignments (or ask for them
when you return). If you are absent on a Friday, make sure
you turn in your stamp sheet from that week! You are
responsible for all material covered when you are absent. If
you need help with material that was covered while you were out,
see Ms Mader outside of class for help.
How can I raise my grade?
1) Make sure you are completing all classwork and
homework
(those points really add up!)
2) Retake quizzes
3) Make test
corrections on unit tests
In order to get half points back, you must show
that you understand the concept.
Writing down the correct answer and turning it
in will not earn any points back.
Test corrections will only be accepted if they
are on a separate sheet of paper.
For each problem you got wrong, show that you
understand the problem by
1) Doing the problem
correctly SHOWING YOUR WORK AND
2) Explain the concept
involved in the problem (explain how you know what to do)
When you turn in your test corrections, make
sure you have attached the test!
When can I see Ms Mader for extra help? After
school: Ms Mader is after school every day. If
you plan on staying after school for help, please check with Ms
Mader and tell her you are coming. It is important that you
check with her because some days she has meetings after
school. Also if she does not know you are coming, she may be
working elsewhere in the school.
Before school: If you
cannot stay after school, make an appointment to meet with Ms Mader
before school. Ms Mader is not usually in her room before
school, but she will be if you tell her you are coming.
During lunch: If you
have second lunch, swing by to get your questions answered.
It is important to tell Ms Mader you are coming so that she doesn't
leave her room to eat lunch.
