Welcome to my web page! For the
2007-2008 school year I will be sharing the role of Directed
Studies Department Chair and Teacher. This year I will be
teaching two English 7 Skills classes periods 2 and 3, and one
Study Skills 7 class period 1. One goal this year is to work
together as a community of learners to gain new skills and become
stronger students. In English we will participate in eight
book club meetings, read a whole class novel, and work in small
groups in literature circles. We will also create several formal
writing pieces including at least one of each of the following:
descriptive, narrative, expository and persuasive, as well
as use technology on a regular basis.
In study skills, we will focus on study and
organization skills. We will also spend time in class to work
on homework. Progress reports will go home bi-weekly and are
expected to be signed and returned. They are a very important
communication skill between home and school.
Please feel free to communicate with me any questions or concerns
throughout the school year. A letter will be going home with
students at the start of the year telling more about myself and our
class. I look forward to a wonderful year!
