FCS1 (HomeEc1) in Room B1 Click here for Calendar of Daily Activity for HomeEc1 FCS2 (HomeEc2) in Room B14 Click here for Calendar of Daily Activity for HomeEc2 FCS1 ( HomeEc1) students learn basic sewing techniques and sewing machine skills. They complete three graded sewing projects. Their own creativity for fabric selection is enthusiasically encouraged. These students also have an opportunity to experience a short cooking unit. Snickerdoodles anyone!? FCS2 (HomeEc2) students work in kitchen groups. Kitchen Safety and Food Handling Safety are emphasized. Food Science Unit provides students with visual examples of bacteria growth when hands are not clean and food is not stored, cooked, or handled safely. Throughout the term they eat the food they have created from classroom recipes. Some favorite units include Quick Breads, Yeast Breads, and Pies. There is an emphasis on healthy food choices.
