WELCOME TO EINSTEIN!!!  We are here to help students advocate, problem solve and connect to school and peers.  To have a successful year in middle school there are some important things to keep in mind.

Attendance:  Arriving on-time to school and classes every day is very important.  Obviously there are times when students are absent due to illness,  emergency or other family plans.  Learning builds day by day.  A child who misses a day of school misses a day of learning.  Yes, students can copy notes and make up missed homework but they can't get back the discussions, questions, explanations and thinking that makes learning come alive!

If your student is absent for 3 days you may request that his or her missed homework be collected for pick up.  Please call our attendance line to set that up.   Please also remind your student to check Data Dashboard and teacher websites to stay on track as much as possible while they are away from school.

For more information about attendance, truancy and the Becca Bill please look at our documents page.

Grades/Data Dashboard: Each student has a Data Dashboard password and log in listed on the front page of their school planner.  Grades are updated every two weeks and will reflect your student's current grade and missing assignments.  Please use Data Dashboard as a tool to monitor academic progress and help your student make goals for each two week period.  A sample goal would be: Reduce the number of missing assignments from 4 to 0.

If you have questions about your student's grades please email the teacher directly.  If you are concerned about your student's overall performance in school please contact your student's counselor.   **For more information about homework routines and to see the Tips for Success handout look on our Documents page.

Get Involved!  Research shows that students who are involved in one or more school sponsored clubs or sports teams do better academically in school.  Einstein has a long list of fun clubs for students to attend.  The majority of them are free and take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays.  There is a late activity bus to take students home at 4:40.  **For more information see the list of clubs/activities on our Documents page.

Einstein also has 4 different sports seasons.  If you are interested in sports please fill out a sports packet (you can pick one up in the main office).  Sports season information is on the Einstein website under the Athletics tab.

COLLEGE BOUND:  The College Bound Scholarship is a needs based scholarship that can only be applied to during the middle school years.  Students qualify based on family income.  If a student qualifies, the College Bound Scholarship will pay for college in Washington State provided the student maintains a C or above average in high school and is a good citizen both in the community and at school.  The student must also fill out college and FAFSA applications on time.  **For more information about College Bound please see the documents page and the College Bound link on our Link page.

If you need more information or have any questions please don't hesitate to contact your school counselor.
