Welcome to Room 7!
I have taught both second and
third grades at Highland Terrace over the years. I am looking
forward to the best of both worlds this year as a teacher in a 2/3
split class.
Second graders are growing with great leaps and bounds in their
language and literacy skills. Third graders are challenged to
express more and more of their learning learning in written
form. We will have fun working together and learning from
each other.
Third graders will
have daily homework Monday through Thursday nights. Second
graders will complete a weekly homework packet. We will also
have parent teacher conferences in Dec. or by appointment. If
you have a question or concern, please feel free to call me. I am
usually available between 8:30 and 9:00, and between 3:30 and
4:30.
I am excited to welcome all
second and third graders back to school. We look forward to
seeing some old friends and making some new friends as we welcome
students who are new to Highland
Terrace.
This is my 31th year teaching, my
23nd year in the Shoreline School District, my 14th year at
Highland Terrace and my 6th year teaching third grade. I hold
a Bachelor's degreee in Elementary Education and a Master's degree
in Speech Pathology. I have worked as a Speech/Language
Pathologist and have taught the primary grades K through 3rd
grade.
I have one daughter who is a sixth graders. I like to read,
garden, and try to stay active. I enjoy swimming, bike
riding, walking/hiking, playing tennis, and
skiing.
