Hi! I’m Molly Forry, the 7th grade counselor.
Seventh grade is a very IMPORTANT year for our students! I'm
here to help them make a successful transition to middle
school. One of my favorite educators, Susan Quattrociocchi,
says, "Middle school is like high school with training
wheels".
I am committed to ensuring that each student has options for
success. This involves a myriad of responsibilities which
include making sure that students are appropriately placed in
classes; monitoring grades and meeting with students who are
struggling; connecting students with resources at school and in the
community; setting up teacher, student, parent conferences known as
TSPs (teaspoons).
Besides helping students with academic success, I want to make sure
that Kellogg is a safe environment where all students have positive
connections. I do mediations between students, present
classroom workshops on harassment prevention and internet safety,
run friendship groups and coordinate the Mentor program.
In an effort to help students realize that school choices affect
career options, I will be working with 7th grade teachers on a
wonderful career awareness project which culminates with
guest speakers in the late spring.
I am also the Honor Society advisor and look forward to another
successful year for this program.
Please contact me if I can be of assistance.
