as an important part of improving.

follow a sequence of steps in rehearsing and performing. You
learn to perserve even when you hit obstacles and
disappointments.
PERSONAL and SOCIAL
RESPONSIBILITY
The experience of
public performance teaches you that you are accountable for the
quality of your own work, that overall success is dependent on how
well the group works together as a whole. Each person has a
responsibility to help others achieve at high levels.
IMAGINITIVE
THINKING
As you create and
perform, you draw upon imagination, perception and memories.
You learn to take risks and devise multiple interpretations.
THINKING and CONNECTIONS
You learn to analyze
musical works, looking at historical and cultural contexts.
You draw conclusions and make informed judgements.
RESPECT FOR CREATIVITY IN
OTHERS
Because you invest so
much of yourself in your music, you will learn to appreciate why
people devote themselves to work, projects, and ideas that attempt
