My name is Sonja
Petersen and I am the new Drug/Alcohol Specialist at Kellogg Middle
School. This is my first year at Kellogg and I am excited to
be here and to get to know the students and families here.
Previously I worked at Shorecrest High School, and at Lake Forest
Park Elementary School before that, so I am familiar with Shoreline
schools!
As the drug/alcohol counselor at Kellogg, I provide support to
students, families and staff. I serve as a resource for
information and referrals and provide support for students to stop
their own use, to deal with the drug or alcohol abuse of friends or
family members, or for a variety of related issues. I also
facilitate a student support group for concerned others during the
year.
I am at Kellogg on Mondays
and Tuesdays from
7:30-3:30. I can be

On a personal level, I live in Seattle with my husband Ryan and my
beautiful dog Isabelle. Ryan and I just got married last
summer, and celebrated our wedding with an amazing honeymoon in
South America. I love to travel, play soccer, read, scuba
dive, and take pictures. We are hoping to make our next big
trip to South Africa to watch the World Cup in 2010.
