about coming back to school. In third grade we will do some

school starts. Enjoy your last days of vacation. If you don't know
who I am and want to learn more about me, scroll down to the bottom

You helped us make last
June's
PARKFEST A BIG ......

!

Thank you so much for coming
to our Potlatch and to our performance!
Some of our performers
were quite nervous, but they didn't let it stop them from putting
on a great performance.

Here we are dancing the Yakima Welcome Dance with
our Northwest Coastal Regalia!

Didn't we look cool
when we all sat together with our hats on?
We had a chance to say
thank you to Saaduuts.

Our
trip to the Burke Museum was great too! What a
wonderful place. Thank you to our wonderful chaparones
Michal Laycock, Jan Avotins, Chris and Russ Black, and Lori
Anderson.
Thank you also to the parents from Mrs. Lundahl's class and Mrs.
Barouri's class who accompanied us as well.

We ate lunch in the shade of huge totem
poles.
It was
way cool!
Then
we came back and cleaned out our desks. The end of the
year was approaching quickly!
The last day of school was
Thursday, June 19th at 11:15.
Everyone was more than ready for summer
vacation !

A Bit About Mrs. Hertzberg

Here I am with my
husband and 3 children!
I was very lucky when I was little, because I
grew up in a big wonderful family in a beautiful area filled with
lakes, and trees, and lots of places to enjoy being a kid. My
family had a farm 2 hours north of Toronto, Canada. I
started teaching in Toronto in an inner city school.
My first class had 42 second graders, many of whom spoke Italian,
and I didn't ! It was an adventure.
After travelling extensively, I met my husband, Jerry, in Oakland,
California and moved up here 18 years ago. We have been
married for 25 years and have 2 children, Josh who is 22 and Katie
who is 19. The other child in the picture is our wonderful, goofy
golden retreiver who would not be left out of a family
photo! Now I live in Bothell with my family, 2 cats, a
new dog named Bodhi, and a resident bunny, named Ninja. He
lives under our deck!
You can probably tell that I love animals, and I have a very deep
respect for the natural world. In my spare time I enjoy
spending time with my family, reading great books, talking on the
phone to my family in Canada, doing photography, and learning new
things about everything I can.
I love teaching and believe that being around children is a great
honor. Thank you for the privilege
of spending this year with all of
these wonderful third graders!
