Welcome to
Mrs.Ward's
Room 13
Classroom at
Parkwood School
Dear Room 13 families,
Welcome to a new school year at Parkwood Elementary. Your
child is one of 8 children in room 13. We blend our class
with Mrs. Ibach’s first grade in room 10. We call
ourselves “Room 10/13". There will be 35 children when
we are together. “Blending” provides a wonderful
opportunity for strong friendships, increased skill development and
wonderful role models for both groups.
I am very fortunate to have a wonderful staff working with me in
room 13.
They are paraeducators:
• RoseAnn McLaughlin
• Chris Hofmeister
• Angela Gustafson
• Stephanie Wallace
• Michelle McAbee
Our support therapy staff is
• Christine Dunbar, Speech language
pathologist
Barb Bender, Physical Therapy
Erika Drajeske, Occupation Therapy
• Molly Wergeland, Occupational Therapy
• Marie Shaw, Physical Therapy
• Rachel Warwick, Vision Specialist
Please see the classroom supply list below. The composition
book will be used as a communication notebook between home and
school for quick messages. I check them in the morning, so if
you have something you want me to know right away please write it
there. You can also reach me by e-mail at
kathleen.ward@shorelineschools.org. I tend to read my e-mail
at the end of the day. You can also call 206-393-1433. During
school hours you can leave a message there. I believe that
communication between home and school is very important.
We have daily class snacks with our blended class. Please
send a box of snacks to share. We are a “peanut free
zone”. Please do not send anything with peanuts.
I look forward to a grand year with your child.
Sincerely,
Kathleen Ward
