Rewards for no
overdues
•If students can go a half
school year without forgetting their library books, they will be
rewarded with
1)
prize (primary) or prize/treat (intermediate)
2)
star by name in barcode book for extra book to check
out
• Grace period: students
have until the morning following their regularly scheduled library
day to get their books back & not be counted overdue. Mrs.
Ferris runs the official Overdue Report that a.m. & puts red
checks in library attendance book. (That’s why we take roll,
so absentees are not counted with overdues.)
• K & 1: 1 book unless
have star(s)
•Gr. 2 - 6: 2 books unless
have star(s)
Book
Care
1. Have a special place for library
books in your home.
2. Be sure
the special place is high enough to keep the books away from little
brothers/sisters and/or the family cat or dog.
3. Wash
hands before looking at the books.
4. Carry
them to and from home in a clean, waterproof bag such as a
backpack.
