Welcome to Room
10!
Thank you
for stopping by to learn more about second grade!
Second grade is a busy
year with lots to learn and
discover. This is my seventh year teaching second grade. I
spent six years at Sunset Elementary and am looking forward
to the coming year at
Ridgecrest.
I am originally
from the beautiful state of Virginia, where I spent
my
formative years. After graduating from James Madison
University in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, I moved to the Pacific Northwest
for a change of scenery and weather. I attended
graduate school at Portland State University and received a
master's in Curriculum and Instruction. I also recently
received my professional teaching certification from Seattle
Pacific University.
When I am not busy
with life in second grade, I enjoy hiking, running,
cooking, reading and anything that will get me
outside. I live with my
husband
in Seattle, who is a graduate student in
Electrical Engineering at the University of
Washington.
This year second grade students will
be working together as a community to
learn and grow. They will be thinkers, readers, writers,
scientists, artists, mathematicians and helpful
friends. My hope is that this website
will keep Room 10 families in the loop about
what we are doing in class. The Announcements section and the
Documents section
on the sidebars are where you can find class
information and copies of important notes that are sent home.
