Eichner
Dear SC Students/Families: I would like to welcome you to what is bound to be another great year at Shorecrest. I am looking forward to working with each you of this year. For those of you who do not know me, I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Corey Eichner, am 29 years old, and I am beginning my 5th year teaching at Shorecrest. I teach US History, and also serve as the Activity Coordinator – so you can find me either in my classroom or in the Activity Office down in the SAC. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies and Master’s in Administration from Western Washington University, and am currently completing my administrative internship this year at Shorecrest. I am excited to be a teacher, and thrilled to have the opportunity to be here in Shoreline. My passion for my job is very apparent, something I use to help create enthusiasm in my classroom. I believe in my students, believe that they can succeed at anything they put their mind to, and do not hide that I have very high expectations for them. I work hard to provide a positive learning environment for all my students and expect that in return, they take ownership in their education and work hard to reach their potential. While I like to have fun in my classroom I am also very serious about learning and providing a quality education to all students. Outside of my work I value the time I can spend with both my family and friends. I am an avid water-skier, love to hike, and on the good seasons, also enjoy snowboarding during the winter months. The newest excitement in my life was the birth of my niece, Sydney, who is now 6 months old and is close to the cutest thing I have ever seen. She is the first in our family so needless to say my parents love their new role as grandparents and my brother and sister-in-law are doing a great job as new parents. Having just finished my master’s I spent this past summer taking some small trips to Vegas, Lake Chelan, the Oregon Coast, the Columbia River, and a few others. I am a true Washingtonian, living in downtown Seattle, enjoy my daily coffee, and am a die-hard Seahawks fan (GO HAWKS!). I am so excited to be back for another great year here at Shorecrest. This is an unbelievable school and community to work in and I am looking forward to working with you and in my new role as the Activities Coordinator. Attached you will find a copy of my academic plan. Please take the time to review the guidelines for this course and let me know if you have any questions. Sincerely, Corey Eichner For a full list of assignments & due dates, please visit the homework section of this webpage. To sign up for my weekly US History Homework Hotline click here.
