DATA DASHBOARD is a new
program being used to display classroom grades such as homework,
quizzes, tests, participation, etc. It has other features
that parents and students may find useful, and more features will
be added over time.
This is the place to view your student's current classroom
progress. No longer do you have to search for
individual departments and teachers, and also go to Family
Access, to find all your student's classroom grades!
FAMILY ACCESS can help parents and students stay on top of
their Shorecrest student's attendance, report card grades,
lunch-money balance, and more. Students will sign up for
next-year's courses via Family Access. Much of what is shown
in Data Dashboard is pulled from Family Access. This program
updates in "real time;" that is, when a change is made in the
school's student information system, it shows right away in Family
Access.
CLAN CONNECTION is the way
for your family "clan" to keep in touch witih the school "clan"
that is Shorecrest High School. On the Clan Connection page you will find
links to both Data Dashboard and Family Access, as well as
information about these two programs. You can go to the
Clan Connection page from
my Links section, or by clicking on Clan Connection on the Shorecrest home
page.
Logins and
Passwords Parents/guardians receive a
lavender sheet with confidential login and password
information around the end of September each year; in 2009, these
should have reached homes on September 30 or thereabouts.
Students were given a green card with their
login information on October 1, 2009, during their second-period
class.
Data Dashboard "StudentID" (login) is seven numbers, of which the
first is always a zero. Passwords are the student's last name
followed by three or four random numbers. Each student has a
Data Dashboard "StudentID" and password that is also used by
his/her parents.
Family Access Logins are 8 letters/spaces followed by three
numbers. Passwords are 8 random letters/numbers. (Both
logins and passwords are pre-assigned. Once logged on, your
password may be changed to something more easily remembered.)
Parents, GUARD YOUR PASSWORDS and do NOT share them with your
student(s)! Students have similar, but fewer,
privileges in Family Access, and they have their own logins and
passwords.
Parents:
Lost your Data Dashboard/Family
Access login/passwords - or never received them?
Since it is often hard to tell from a phone call or an e-mail that
it is actually a parent who is requesting a login or password, our
usual policy is to not give out parent logins or passwords without
face-to-face contact. ID may be required. This is to
prevent students from taking over parents' Family Access
privileges.
Students:
Lost your Data Dashboard/Family Access login/passwords - or never
received them?
If you didn't receive your green card from your
second-period teacher, the first step is to ask him/her for
it. If you don't have a second-period class, or you lost your
green
card, you may visit Mrs. Hadden in Registration NOT DURING CLASS
TIME to get a new copy.
