Welcome to the
Shorecrest Site Council homepage
Shorecrest Site Council is an advisory
committee that brings together all involved school stakeholders:
administrators, teachers, non-teaching staff, students, and
parents. The council focuses on communication, instruction,
personalization & engagement, and school climate. Our
goal is to provide long-range guidance and insight in support of
Shorecrest High School. All of our recommendations are based
on our current research within the school, the state, and in
consideration of broader, national education initiatives. Site
Council meets the second Tuesday of every month at 5:15 in the
Shorecrest library, and our minutes are posted on the Site Council
website following approval. You can link to the Site Council
webpage from the school’s main page or from the link provided
below.
For the 2009-10 school year Site
Council is focusing on:
- Reviewing the 2009 Accreditation
report to craft a new mission statement for Shorecrest that
reflects our current culture and goals as a school community.
- Examining progress being made toward
the two school goals that came out of the Accreditation report (#1
Curriculum & Assessment, #2 Academic Intervention) and
make recommendations where appropriate.
- Providing the Shoreline School Board
with input regarding Shorecrest perspectives on bond measures for
future technology and facilities improvements.
- Continuing to advocate for a later
high school start time for 2010-11.
- Following up on stakeholder input
through “Let’s Talk” (A place for all community
members to air their opinions, concerns, etc. There is a link for
this forum on Shorecrest’s home page.)
