A little about
me:
I will be starting the National
Board Certification process for the school year 09-10. I am
very excited about the prospect of gaining information about the
students and families I work with at
Shorewood.
"Helping students recognize their capabililties and
lessening students' dependence on others while increasing their
capacity to work cooperatively are all high priorities ...as is
preparing students to make a smooth transition to the next stage in
their lives, in further education, independent living or the world
of work." National Board Students with Exceptional Needs Standards
2009.
As a graduate from Western Washington University with a Special
Education, and Elementary Education degree, I thought for sure I
would be teaching little kiddos. When the opportunity to
teach at Shorewood came up in 2005, I trusted my friends and took
the high school plunge. I think it was the best career decision I
could have made. I love coming to school every day, and feel
privileged to be apart of this community. I completed my
Master's degree in Reading and Literacy from Walden University in
August 2006.
