Highly Capable Program

Testing for the Shoreline School District's Highly Capable Program for elementary grades will begin in October 2009 for the 2010-2011 school year for students currently enrolled in the district.

There will be a $50 charge for students to test who are not currently enrolled in the Shoreline School District.  Please make your check payable to the Shoreline School District and send it at the time of registration to Trudy Wright, Shoreline School District, 18560 1st Avenue N.E., Shoreline, WA 98155.  If your check has not been received by December 31, 2009, your child will not be allowed to test.

All parents who register their student for testing must complete the Parent/Guardian Permission Form in order for your student to be tested.  If the signed permission form is not received, your student will not be able to participate in the testing.

First Grade

All district first grade students will be tested in October 2009.  Parents of current district first graders will receive information in the mail about the testing and have the option of declining the testing of their child by signing and returning a postcard to the Highly Capable Program office.  If parents wish their student to be tested, they must return the goldenrod Parent/Guardian Permission form by Monday, October 5, 2009.  Students who qualify will go on for further testing in January 2010.

Interested parents of private school first grade students can register online beginning October 1, 2009.  Registration ends October 21, 2009.  If you have questions, please contact Trudy Wright in the Highly Capable Program office.
