Elementary Science Eti-Kit:
1. Please return all kit and supply items
as scheduled or arranged with Lynn.
a. Return
partial unused amounts. EX: Owl pellets cost $2 ea.
b. Often
there is a limited window that she has to restock the kit before it
goes to the next teacher. Kits returned late can have a
domino effect on everyone else.
2. Refrain from using science supplies for
other classroom projects, unless you are integrating those subjects
directly into the science lessons from the kits.
3. Kits returned in a mess take more time
to sort out and repack.
a. Use the
kit inventory checklist on the tub lid (show this to your helpers
if they are repacking for you). TIP: You can use an overhead
pen to check off the items.
b. You can also
help by returning materials clean and dry. We have had to throw out
entire bags of sponges and containers due to mold and mildew
growth.
c. If there
is more than 1 kit being used, please make sure the materials go
back to their original tubs.
4. If you find any materials after you
return the rest of the kit, please send it back to Lynn through
district mail WITH YOUR NAME ON IT. She can quickly figure
out where the missing those materials belong.
5. Lost and broken items obviously cost
money and time to replace.
a. Teacher
Guide - $200; Kits from $1,000-$2,500. Keep them safe.
b. Use
sticky notes and removable clear tape to label plastic or glass
items. DO NOT USE masking tape.
c. Put any
fragile items back into their packaging.
d. If
something is missing or broken, please email Lynn, mark it on the
kit inventory checklist, and use your best judgment to
mark/separate the broken item from the rest of the materials.
6. If you realize you won't have time for a
scheduled kit, please reschedule it so we can make the kit
available for another teacher. If you do not have time to teach a kit, let
Lynn know so she doesn’t have to re-inventory it.
