Dear 5th Grade Math
Families,
My name is Katherine Dumont and I would like to introduce myself to
you. I will be your child’s 5th grade Math teacher for the
remaining school year. I am very excited to be teaching at Syre
School and working with your children.
I have taught in grades K-8 in Boston, California, and Greece. Last
year I taught 4th grade at Echo Lake School here in Shoreline.
I look forward to a successful year in our class. Math is such an
important part of our lives both in the academic and real world.
Students will grow in their confidence in mathematics as they build
on prior knowledge and discover new challenges.
Since we will be covering a large range of topics, homework will be
sent home most nights and will be due the next day. I will continue
to send home Mountain Math on Fridays which will be due on the
following Friday.
