"The important thing is not
to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing."
--Albert Einstein
Dear Room 7
Families,
Hello! I am so excited
to write this letter to introduce myself as the interim teacher for
Room 7, while Ms. Angvik is out for the next eight weeks. I
have had the opportunity to spend time with your child already and
look forward to getting to know you and your children even better
over the weeks to come.
I am a firm believer
that children learn best when there is a consistent routine and
when children are actively engaged in their learning. I plan to do
my best at remaining consistent with Ms. Angvik’s teaching
styles and expectations. I will work closely with the Second
Grade team as well to coordinate lessons and expectations to assure
consistency and continuity.
To give a bit of my
background, I am currently working on my Masters of Education
through Lesley University. I have my B.A. of Education through
Western Washington University where I graduated in 2006. My
teaching experience began in the Shoreline School District where I
did my student teaching at Meridian Park Elementary in a first
grade classroom. Since that time, I have worked as a first
grade teacher at Meridian Park, as a third grade teacher at
Jefferson Elementary in Everett, and have just finished a long term
position at Lake Forest Park Elementary with third
grade. Additionally, I substitute teach for Seattle, Mukilteo,
Everett, and Shoreline School Districts.
Presently, I live on
Greenlake in North Seattle, where I frequently go for walks and
runs. I am an avid cyclist, backpacker, runner and outdoor
enthusiast. This summer I will be completing my second
triathlon (I hope!). I am the proud owner of two 120lb Yellow
Labrador Retrievers, Emma and Winston. They currently reside
with my parents in Brier J.
I thank you so much
for your support and hope to meet everyone soon. Please feel
free to e-mail at nicole.olsen@shorelineschools.org
with any questions, comments, or
concerns. I look forward to our time
together!
Sincerely,
Ms. Nicole
