What could you share from our work session today?
With the start of school coming up, what have you created that
could help you integrate technology while helping you with the
laptop rollout?

Great keynote slide show on laptop rules. |

Don't be afraid to go beyond what you "think" your limits are. You will often be surprised as to what you can accomplish. |

Worked with hyperlinking within keynote...not seeing the advantage over PowerPoint yet, but I am keeping an open mind. |

I learned how to do a basic Keynote presentation and we made one that we can use on the first day of school. |
I made a folder of iCal templates for each of my classes and developed a way of saving each day's activities and homework entries for data collection purposes. Thanks for your help, Priscilla ;-)

I made a keynote presentation and template for "outside reading" for my English 10 classes. The students will do the same thing each time they start a new book. It is a way to keep track of their reading and creates a notebook for them to have at the end of the year. |
I haven't created anything, but have started to get some ideas about how technology could replace/update assignments/activities that I do anyway. Like the replacing of the worksheet reading logs w/ keynote presentations. This is a new mindset for me because I had more in my head about creating brand new things and additions, versus just using the technology to do the things I already do.
I also like this thing where I can leave students with a discussion question to do at home or on the way out the door. Will you teach us how to do this? |

Today I worked on updating my SWIFT website. I was impressed by some of the Keynote presentations that some other teachers started. |
Jeanette and I used Keynote to create a way for English 10 students to do all of the following for their Outside Reading:
*respond to reading three times per week
*create a presentation that could be accessed and shared with others anytime, all year long
*create a record of their reading that includes images and info from the Internet
*create a final product for their Showcase Portfolio
*eliminates annoying paperwork
*accomodates easy access for grading |
